About Yotam

I start from the assumption that you have already been doing everything you know to make things better. People rarely come to therapy because they have not tried hard enough. Usually, something is getting in the way, or the tools that once helped are no longer enough. I work with teens, adults, and families dealing with eating concerns, complex emotions, and patterns that have become hard to shift. I take suffering seriously, but I do not want to reduce people to symptoms, diagnoses, or compliance. Therapy should be compassionate without becoming passive, structured without becoming controlling, and informed by research without becoming mechanical. My work draws mostly from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, along with relational and emotion-focused approaches. We will work to understand what is happening in context, not just identify a problem and push for change. From there, we can build flexibility and room to move toward what matters. With families, I focus on connection first, then on making changes without shame, blame, or unnecessary power struggles. As Sova Counseling's Clinical Director, I know our therapists well. Intake is also a chance to think about fit. Sometimes that means working with me, and sometimes another Sova therapist may be a better match. I will tell you honestly what I think while keeping your preference part of the decision. I can challenge you when useful, slow down when something needs care, and help make difficult work more manageable.
